Embracing Autumn

Magic Moments and Reflections Behind the Fall Collection

Hello, friends! Can you believe it's already fall? I’m so ready to leave the chaos that is summer behind and fall into a slower, cozier routine this autumn. These chilly mornings, warm afternoons, and beautiful fall colors have me feeling so giddy! The start of fall also means beanie season is here and I’m so excited to share the new Fall Collection with you!

Autumn Adventures and Inspirations

Fall isn't just a season, it's an invitation to slow down, absorb nature’s beauty, and open a new chapter in your year. Some of the things I most look forward to this time of year are hearty soups and stews, fresh baked goods, favorite candles, good books, and more time for knitting with a blanket by the fire.

With beanie season comes the need for lots of photos and more content. Last weekend was the perfect opportunity for a Fall Collection photoshoot that became a wonderful autumn equinox girls camping weekend with some of my besties. We packed our camping gear, lots of snacks, and made the short drive to one of my favorite areas near where we live to soak up the magic of the season, have meaningful conversations, and, of course, capture stunning shots for the Fall Collection.

Autumn Camping and Hiking: A Perfect Escape

Our adventure took us to the wilderness a little bit North of where we live in Colorado where the fall colors were popping! The golds, oranges, and reds were so beautiful! We set up camp and got to enjoy cooking dinner and hanging out around the campfire. I took the chance to get photos of all of the beanies in the collection before the sun set, and my friends helped me capture a few different camping scenes too. We spent the evening staring at stars and sharing reflections while reading through an autumn equinox tarot spread. It was a beautiful way to spark some meaningful conversations and reflection. The next morning, we enjoyed some camp coffee and basking in the morning sun while it quickly warmed from below freezing temps to t-shirt weather. We spent the day hiking to a nearby alpine lake where the water was clear and the fall colors dotted the backdrop, and of course capturing a few more beanie photos. It was the perfect way to welcome the new season.

Our camping trip was full of giggles, a smorgasbord of a backcountry spread, and lots of time just being together out in the woods. These magic moments gave way to some really special memories and a calming sense of joy going into the next season.

Autumn Equinox Reflections

As we celebrated the autumn equinox, we got deep in conversation and asked ourselves some thought-provoking questions. Here are a few of the questions we reflected on together:

I got these questions from the Almanac Supply Co Autumn Equinox Tarot spread. My Wildwood deck is also from their shop!

  1. What have I planted that's ready for harvest this season?

    • Translation: What have we been working on that's finally coming to fruition? Just like trees shedding leaves, it's time to let go of what's not serving us and make room for new growth. It’s also important to recognize what we’ve done and celebrate our wins.

  2. What's gotta go so we can save our energy?

    • Fall teaches us to shed what's weighing us down. Just like trees drop leaves to conserve energy, we need to let go of things that drain us and fill our own cups so that we have the love and energy to give to others.

  3. How can I dive deeper into this season's vibes?

    • Embracing fall isn't just about hanging out in nature; it's about living the fall life every day. Whether that's whipping up seasonal recipes, crafting up a storm, or just cozying up by the fire, we're all about those fall feels.

Cheers to Adventures and Cozy Season

As I say goodbye to the summer whirlwind and settle into autumn's warm embrace, I’m beyond grateful for the adventures, laughter, and amazing time spent with friends. Getting photos for the Fall Collection was just icing on the cake! This season, Smeeny Made Wild is all about sharing the everyday moments and little adventures that find us in tune with nature and living with the seasons.  What makes someone outdoorsy? It's not all about bagging peaks, big ski lines, or weeklong backpacking trips.  It's just making time to get outside in the ways that bring you joy.  This collection captures the essence of fall and what it means to be made wild. Cheers to more amazing fall adventures and a cozy season ahead!
